Blood Typing Lab

It's important to have prior knowledge about blood types before beginning this lab. Do the following to gain more information.

Read the section on blood types on pages 103, 610-611 in your textbook.

Watch this video playliston blood types.

Go to these four websites: Red Cross and Stanford and Franklin Institute and Biology Project

Answer the following questions:

1- Who discovered blood types? When?
2 - What are the four main blood types?
3 - Which is the most common blood type? Which is the least common?
4 - What happens to the blood if an improper blood type is given during a transfusion?

Create a table listing what types of blood types are compatible (who can receive what types of blood). Look to the Red Cross link for a great model.

Questions and table will be due at next class period.
